The Joy of Outdoor Activities: You Won't Understand Until You Try
A friend of mine once said, "If you don't go fishing, you won't understand the joy of fishing, just like how they won't understand the happiness of outdoor activities if they don't engage in them.”
In the eyes of many people, outdoor hiking is considered both tiring and boring. They put words like: “Isn't it uncomfortable to go hiking on an extremely hot day? Isn't it enjoyable to relax in a cool, air-conditioned room while indulging in some refreshing watermelon? Rather than sleeping in on weekends, imagine waking up early and gathering with friends to venture to the countryside and conquer a mountain. Imagine spending a significant amount of money to fly from one city to another, staying for a few days, all in pursuit of conquering a dream mountain. It is silly, isn’t it?”
However, there are certain sceneries that you will never see unless you go outdoors. Sometimes, there are experiences, truths, and joys that you will only understand once you have gone through them.
Going outdoors for exercise is a way to improve your current self compared to your past self. Hiking outdoors may sometimes feel monotonous, as you mechanically move your feet forward. At times, it may tempt you to stop, to give up. If it succeeds, you lose. However, when we quit smoking and drinking for the sake of our health and start hiking outdoors, we embark on a path towards a healthier lifestyle. This lifestyle change brings about improvements in our physical well-being, while the transformations in our body and mind empower us with strength and confidence.
Engaging in outdoor activities might not lead to instant wealth, so why do we continue to pursue them? Well, for certain individuals, their perception of the world is rather limited. However, those who regularly participate in outdoor activities manage to uncover various facets of this world with each stride they take, grasping its essence and distinctiveness.
Those with a passion for the outdoors aren't inherently better than others, nor do they claim any special nobility. The genuine nobility emerges from surpassing our former selves.
Outdoor sports embody an attitude. Without participating in these activities, you might fail to realize that it's not solely about physical prowess; it's also a perspective that profoundly influences your life.
Engaging in outdoor sports isn't meant for flaunting or bragging, but rather it represents a lifestyle. It involves assuming responsibility for your own well-being and that of your loved ones.
As outdoor sports evolve into habits and a way of thinking, they integrate into your spiritual existence. They equip us to confront life armed with a robust physique and an optimistic outlook.
The difference between people who exercise and those who don't will become apparent after 10 years.
If there's any harm in long-term physical activity, it would likely affect your peers of the same age.
During the initial years of exercising, the gap between you and your peers might not be very noticeable. However, as time goes by, the disparity becomes evident.
After being involved in sports for 5, 10, or 20 years, you'll gain a renewed outlook on life in its entirety.
Your body's shape, appearance, posture, physical fitness, and mental attitude all distinguish you from peers of the same age. With a robust state of health, you can venture into the next 10 or 20 years of your extraordinary life, standing out in a truly exceptional manner!
Consistently being outdoors, consistently having a great time.
Those who constantly opt to sleep in will never get to taste the delights of outdoor activities. Only those who take the initiative to participate will truly understand!
Some people enjoy outdoor activities, such as sweating profusely while climbing mountains, using their own feet to measure each step, and feeling refreshed upon reaching the mountaintop.
Outdoor activities offer individuals an opportunity to be alone, devoid of any disturbances, allowing them to listen, contemplate, and forget all their worries.
You don't go outdoors, so you don't understand.
Why do some people tirelessly insist on doing such a boring thing? Because in this impetuous society, dedicating oneself wholeheartedly to something is such a joyful thing.
Exercising is the most effective means to combat depression and anxiety, whether acknowledged or not.
As adults, we often find ourselves relying solely on our own abilities to confront challenges and hardships. Engaging in physical activity serves as the ultimate stress reliever. Each time I embark on an outdoor hiking adventure, it proves to be a consistently delightful experience.
During moments of contentment, I derive immense pleasure from the exercise process. Even during less favorable emotional states, I remain determined to engage in physical activity.
Following a workout session, my well-being is further elevated. Sweating proves to be an exceptionally efficient technique for quelling anxiety.
When everyone is experiencing pain, they need to seek a breakthrough. And if you're open to it, I believe that hiking outdoors can be that breakthrough.
When I feel lost and in pain, I always put my MIER backpack on and march out on a hike. Hiking grants me sudden understanding, relieves stress, and uplifts my mood. I no longer dwell on life's hardships or wallow in self-pity; instead, I am able to accept and gradually shape my existence.
Through hiking, you will discover the simplest and most beautiful aspects of life.
If you never go outdoors, then you won't understand. Every outdoor experience is a way to let go of the past; every hike is a fresh start.
If you successfully complete 10 or 20 hikes, you will feel a renewed spirit, as if you have overcome hardship and tasted the sweetness of success. You will come to realize that hiking outdoors is actually quite enjoyable!
