This is a great heavy duty backpack. I ordered the olive green which also has black trimming and details. The whole front and sides are thick waterproof material. The whole vack side is padded mesh material which makes it very comfortable to wear especially when you carry alot of weight in it. I love that it has the strap for luggage suitcase handle which makes it easier when traveling. There is also a strap that goes across chest/waist to connect each shoulder strap together. Makes it a good hiking or camping/outdoors backpack. It is very roomy and deep inside main compartment. There is 2 exterior side slip pockets and 2 exterior zipper pockets. There is an inside slip pocket large enough to hold a laptop or tablet as well. Would definitely recommend this for those who are rough with their things as this is heavy duty outside without being too bulky.

My son and husband are impressed with this backpack. They took it hiking/camping and said it worked so much better than others that they've used. The material is very durable and water resistant, you can literally just wipe it clean. There are multiple storage compartments. It's a lovely light army green color with black trim. There's padding built into the back of it, which makes if very comfy on your back on long hikes. It's a resilient and excellent quality backpack!

I was looking for a traveling backpack for our typical vacations typically lasting 7 days or less. We travel pretty light because we don't want to check bags and we always travel with our laptops. So I wanted a backpack that could carry and protect my 16" MacBook Pro and have as large a central compartment as possible - lots of little compartments just means you're carrying extra walls and zippers and lose available space in the process. I just want to cram in all my clothes and toiletries and take them out at my destination as needed. Also, I wanted a backpack that could carry at least one Hydroflask bottle (22oz) on the outside for easy access and a pack that was a bit more stylish by being taller and narrower and not have so many straps and zippers all over the place.Well, this backpack covers all my requirements: it has TWO side compartments that can accommodate pretty much any two water bottles you care to bring. It has a relatively huge central compartment big enough to accommodate 7 days of clothes & toiletries - that central compartment also has a *suspended* pocket big enough to hold my 16" MacBook Pro. The backpack's back foam protects the laptop on one side, your clothes will protect it on the other side and on the bottom (since the pocket is suspended, you can fit some socks or other cushy stuff under the laptop pocket). The suspension is a really nice idea that I haven't seen in other backpacks. Usually laptop pockets let the laptop touch bottom, which is usually padded with foam for protection. Here, you can use your clothes to provide that protection!There's a zippered pocket inside the main compartment that's useful for wires, chargers, or just a safe place for your passport. There are also sundry outside pockets whose zippers are more or less nicely concealed, giving the backpack nice clean lines. Across the padded back of the backpack is a strap that can be used to let the backpack sit on and attach to the handle of a suitcase. Nice touch - although in our case, we'll either use a carry-on suitcase or this backpack, but never both :-)There's really not anything negative I can say about this product. The material used feels like a heavy version of a rain coat and I believe the claim that it's water resistant. The product doesn't claim waterproofness - I suspect that it's because of the exposed top zippers. I'm not willing to test it in a shower, but I think if you're caught in a strong rain, if any water will get into the interior, it'll be through there. The manufacturer might have designed a flap over those to better protect the interior - but it's a quibble.Overall, I can't wait to try this backpack on my next international trip.

This backpack is great as a daily commuter. You're able to fit many items, including laptop, camera, cords, and all other necessities. There is a top compartment that is designed for easy reach and accessible storage. You've got 2 side slots, perfect for a water bottle or even an umbrella. The main body compartment has ample space, you're able to fit clothing, or even shoes if you wanted to. The material is water resistant and it feels durable, the quality is there for sure. Highly recommend this item!

This is a very sharp-looking bag that feels perfect for bike commuting, urban travel, or even as a very functional camera bag with the addition of some additional inserts to keep things padded and organized.Pros:- This is a very nice looking backpack. It looks very sleek and modern, a bit boxy but with rounded edges. It does not look even remotely "tactical" or even particularly outdoorsy.- Having splashed a fair bit of water on it, I can say the outer material does seem to be fairly water repellent, although I did notice water had a bit of a tendency to gather at the seams. I would be comfortable calling it water-resistant but I doubt it's truly water-proof.- The ergonomics appear good. As a six foot tall male with average build, the size and strap placement felt good all around.- The smaller pockets are smartly placed and readily accessible.- The zippers are 'covered' (I won't say sealed) and are very smooth in operation.- The laptop sleeve easily fits a 15" Macbook Pro, and looks like it *might* even fit the new 16", although I wouldn't promise it. It situates the laptop between your back and everything else in the pack, which is either perfect or awful for your laptop depending on what else you decide to put in there. The laptop padding is... about what you would expect for a backpack at this price point. Folks who are going to be slamming this bag around with their laptop inside may want to consider adding additional padding or just being more careful.Neutral:- This bag design is very much a "sack" style in terms of space usage. There are some nicely designed smaller pockets and a lid-compartment around the top and front, but the bulk of the storage in this thing is just one big space in the middle of the pack. Personally, I really like that style of pack design, and seek it out even in my expensive backpacking packs, but if you're the type who doesn't enjoy it so much, be aware.Cons:- The side water bottle holders are a weak spot in terms of design. They are constructed entirely of the same water-resistant material as the main bag with a center mesh panel. Neither material has any stretch to it, and so the only sizing that's possible is via the metal snap. So, depending on your bottle, it's either going to fit in there or it's not, and even if it does, there's not a lot that's going to keep it there (besides gravity) unless it's a snug/perfect fit.- The nylon webbing and plastic buckles feel a bit skimpy, and could be a bit more robust.

The MIER Casual Daypack has a lot going for it:1. A lot of pockets and compartments2. A protected compartment for a laptop or tablet3. Fully waterproof4. Deeper and narrower than what I currently haveWhat concerns me:1. The heavy, exterior fabric, looks like it will be effectively waterproof. But, where it was sewn to other elements of the pack, the holes from the stitches looked stretched and as if the stitching might eventually be a place where the fabric tears.In conclusion, I like this daypack. I'll use it to go to my two study groups that will be starting up again after the holidays. To both groups I take a largish, heavy book; notebook; possibly some other supplemental books, different every time; android tablet; pencil bag; water bottle; and lunch. I can also leave the purse at home and put my wallet and keys in the top pocket. I wanted to order the daypack in powder pink, but it wasn't available, so I opted for olive drab over the black. The grandson modeling the pack for the pictures thinks the black would look better...🙂.
